Set up your Trezor hardware wallet — step by step
This page walks you through the official setup flow: unbox, verify firmware, create a PIN, record your recovery seed, and secure your backup.
2 — Connect & initialize
Connect your Trezor to a computer or mobile device. Follow on-screen instructions to initialize a new device or recover an existing one.
3 — Create a PIN
Choose a secure PIN you will remember. The PIN protects device access; it is NOT a recovery phrase.
4 — Record recovery seed
Write down the seed words exactly in order on the provided card (or securely offline). Store them in a safe physical location.

Do I need internet to set up?

You need a connection to download firmware and access the wallet app, but the recovery seed and device storage are kept offline on the device itself.
Can I recover on another device?

Yes — with your recovery seed you can restore your wallet on a compatible Trezor device or using supported recovery tools.
What if I lose my seed?

If you lose the recovery seed and your device is damaged or lost, funds cannot be recovered. Keep multiple secure backups and consider split-seed or secure vault strategies for large holdings.
